The Oltářík , also Hrádek (German Woltarschik , also Woltarik ) is a prominent mountain in the Bohemian Central Uplands in the Czech Republic . On the top of the mountain are the ruins of the medieval Oltářík Castle .
Location and surroundings
The Oltářík rises about five kilometers west of Třebenice ( Trebnitz ) in the south of the left Elbe Bohemian Central Mountains. Immediately at the foot of the mountain are the small towns of Děkovka ( Diakowa ) and - a little further away - Mrsklesy ( Merskles ), Chrášťany ( Chrastian ) and Dřemčice ( Tschemtschitz ). Neighboring elevations are the Solanská hora and Dlouhý vrch ( Sollan Mountains ) and the Plešivec ( Plösche ).
history
Oltářík Castle was built in 1426 by Jakoubek von Vřesovice . Despite its uncomfortable location and small size, the castle was used until the 16th century. In 1576 Oltářík is described as abandoned.
