The Dálnice 49 ( Czech for "Autobahn 49") is a motorway in the Czech Republic . It branches off the D1 motorway at Hulín and leads to Slovakia, where it joins the Slovak D 1 at Púchov as the Slovak R6 . Before the decision was made on October 16, 1996 to build this route as the R49, the route had been planned as part of the Czech D1. An agreement on relations between the governments of the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic, which had the purpose of establishing the R49, was signed at the ministerial level of the two countries on September 20, 2004 in Zlín . At the end of September 2008, construction began on the first section, which will create a significantly better connection between the Zlín area and the Czech motorway network.
Until December 31, 2015 it was classified as an expressway and was named Rychlostní silnice 49 .
Construction and planning
Section Hulín - Fryšták
Data:
- Length: 17.300 km
- Cross section of the roadway: R 24.5
- Design speed: 120 km / h
- Junction points: Třebětice, Holešov
- Start of construction: September 30, 2008
- Estimated handover: October 2011
- Name of the section: 4901
The first section of the R49, together with the construction of section 4902.1 (Fryšták – Lípa, 1st construction phase) should not only achieve a better connection to Zlin, but also relieve the road sections of Silnice 47 , Silnice 49 and Silnice 55 .
The section received a positive rating for the environmental impact assessment in December 2001. In January 2005 the building permit was granted. The cost is estimated at 6.5 billion crowns.
Fryšták – Lipa, 1st construction phase
Data:
- Length: 1,700 km
- Cross-section of the roadway: R 25.5
- Design speed: 100 km / h
- Junction: Fryšták
- Start of construction: April 2009
- Estimated handover: October 2011
- Duration of construction: 2009–2011
- Name of the section: 4902.
The section, which also includes the construction of the 3.375 kilometer long Fryšták – Zlin motorway slip road, is to be built together with the first section 4901, so that traffic can be opened at the same time.
Sections from Fryšták to the border with Slovakia
Data:
- Fryšták – Lipa, 2nd construction phase (length: 12.5 km; designation: 4902.2)
- Lipa – Pozděchov (length: 12.5 km; name: 4903)
- Pozděchov – Horní Lideč (length: 9.1 km; name: 4904)
- Horní Lideč – Slovak border (length: 5.5 km; name: 4905)
For these four remaining sections, the procedures for spatial planning, environmental impact assessment and planning approval are still ongoing.
In September 2004 a feasibility study and cost-benefit analysis was presented. On the basis of the intergovernmental agreement of September 20, 2004, the border crossing and the connection between the Czech R49 and the Slovak R6 near the village of Střelná was established.
It is also possible that these sections will initially only be realized with a single lane and later, in the years 2018–2023, will be supplemented by a second carriageway. This depends in particular on the financial possibilities of the Czech state or on financing from private capital (PPP model).
In the Lipa – Pozděchov section, 3 tunnels with lengths of 233 m, 371 m and 485 m are planned. Due to the steep inclines between the tunnel entrances and exits, the construction of three lanes (one of which is a so-called crawl lane) is being considered. The Pozděchov – Horní Lideč section is to have two tunnels with lengths of 457 and 276 m and also 3 lanes each.
Furthermore, three rest areas are planned on the R49, the exact location of which has not yet been determined. Operation and maintenance of the expressway will be ensured by two road maintenance depots in Fryšták and Horní Lideč.
