history
The first written mention of the village Lip took place in 1261 in the founding deed of the Smilheim Monastery as a gift from William of Hustopeče. In 1363 the place was called Lypa . After the fall of the monastery, Zigmund Kuna von Kunstadt , a descendant of the monastery founder, received the monastic property for the purpose of renovating the monastery, which however never took place. Owners of the Vizovice manor were after the Lords of Kunstadt from 1549 Wenceslas from Boskowitz and from 1567 Zdeněk Kavka from Říčany. In 1578 the village was called Lipa . In 1594, the Hungarian nobleman Emerich Dóczy de Nagy Lucsie ( Emerich Dóczy z Natluče ) acquired the rule; he tried to recatholize the subjects. After the Battle of the White Mountain in 1621, the residents of the area rose against religious oppression and serfdom. After the Wallachian Uprising was suppressed, around 200 rebels were executed in Vsetín in 1644 . The other landlords included u. a. Prokop Graf von Gollen, Marie Anna Minckwitz von Minckwitzburg , Hermann von Blümegen and Philipp Stillfried-Rattonitz . The main source of income was agriculture. In 1846 the place was called Ljpa . Until the middle of the 19th century, Lypa was always subject to the Wisowitz rule.
After the abolition of patrimonial Lippa formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Uherský Brod . From 1855 the village belonged to the Vizovice District and from 1868 to the Holešov District . The current place name Lípa has been used since 1872 . In 1899 the Otrokovice – Vizovice railway was inaugurated. In 1935 Lípa was assigned to the new Zlín district. During the German occupation , the community was given the German name Linde . From 1950 Lípa belonged to the Okres Gottwaldov-okolí and from 1960 back to the Okres Gottwaldov, which has been called Okres Zlín again since 1990 after the political change . Lípa was incorporated into Želechovice nad Dřevnicí in 1961 and together with this in 1976 to Gottwaldov . In 1990 Lípa broke away from Zlín and formed its own community. Lípa carries a coat of arms and a banner.
