history

The first written mention of Deczna was in the Olomouc country table in 1373 , when the brothers Ondřej, Vojtěch and Vlk von Šarov sold the village together with Slušovice , Neubuz and Všemina to Jeschek von Sternberg on Lukov . In 1407 the village was called Destzne and in 1446 Dessna . From 1512, several owners took turns, including the lords of Kunstadt and later the Nekesch von Landek. The place name Desscznu has been handed down from 1548 . From 1607 the rule belonged to Lucretia von Witschkow, nee Nekesch von Landek, and from 1610 to her second husband Albrecht von Waldstein . Lukov ceded this to the emperor in 1625, who handed over the rule to Stephan Schmidt von Freihofen. From him in 1628 the Minkwitz von Minkwitzburg acquired the now heavily indebted rule. In 1671 the village was named Dessna . In 1710 the gentlemen from Rottal bought Lukov with all accessories. Johann von Rottal sold the goods in 1724 to Johann Friedrich Graf von Seilern -Aspang, whose descendants held the property until 1945. The land registers have been kept since 1790. From 1846 the place name Dešna was in use. Until the middle of the 19th century, the village always remained subservient to Lukov.

After the abolition of patrimonial Dešna formed from 1850 a community in the district administration Uherský Brod . From 1855 the village belonged to the Vizovice District and from 1868 to the Holešov District . From 1872 the village was called Dešná . In 1935 Dešná was assigned to the Zlín District. The road to Chrastěšov was built in 1940. From 1949 Dešná belonged to Okres Gottwaldov-okolí and from 1960 back to Okres Gottwaldov, which after the political change of 1989 has been called Okres Zlín again. Between 1976 and 1991 Dešná was incorporated into Slušovice.

In 1985, with significant support from Audi, the Dešná rally test track was built on the road to Chrastěšov. a. Walter Röhrl , Armin Schwarz and Walter Mayer tested their vehicles. In 1993, tests for the Barum rally took place on the hilltop between Dešná and Chrastěšov for the last time. After that, the racetrack went to a private owner who has little interest in motorsport.

The community carries a coat of arms and a banner; it shows a Sagittarius , the coat of arms of the Nekesch von Landek.
