Drnovice (German Drnowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located seven kilometers northwest of Valašské Klobouky in Moravian Wallachia and belongs to the Okres Zlín .
geography
Drnovice is located in the Vlára Valley in the Vizovice Mountains . To the north rise the Kláš3ov (753 m), Svéradov (737 m) and the Hůrka (634 m), in the northeast the Bařinka (716 m) and Vrátnice (680 m) and in the southeast the Humenec (510 m). The foothills of the Javorník Mountains connect to the east .
Neighboring towns are Ploština , Pozděchov , Osičí and Sochorák in the north, Váša, Juřic and Lačnov in the north-east, Tichov in the east, Díly, Smolina and Mirošov in the south-east, Vlachova Lhota in the south, Polem and Vrchy in the south-west, and Vysoké Pole in the west Northwest.
history
Drnowicze was first mentioned as a monastic property in 1261 in the founding document of the Smilheim Monastery . After the fall of the monastery, the owners of the village included u. a. Lords of Cimburk, Kuna of Kunstadt , Wenceslaus of Boskovic and Adam of Lomnice. In 1564, Zdeněk Říčanský Kavka from Říčany Drnovice from the Vizovice estates and slammed it to his rule Brumov .
After the end of patrimonial Drnovice became an independent municipality in 1850. From 1867 to 1948 the place belonged to the district of Hungarian Brod and from 1949 to the Okres Valašské Klobouky. During the territorial reform of 1960, the place came to Okres Zlín.
On April 19, 1945, a war crime occurred in the northern Pasekar settlement of Ploština . An SS command set fire to the place where partisans had found shelter and drove the residents back into the burning houses. 24 people, including nine residents from Drnovice, died in the flames.
