Rokytnice , until 1923 Roketnice (German: Roketnitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located four kilometers southeast of Slavičín and belongs to the Okres Zlín .

geography

Rokytnice is located in the northwest of the White Carpathian Mountains in the area of ​​the CHKO Bílé Karpaty Nature Park. The village extends in the Rokytenka Valley. To the northeast rise the Vrchy (461 m), in the east the Rovně (431 m) and Na Nivách (512 m), southeast the Kamenec (423 m), in the south the Smolenka (632 m), southwest the Kozice (512 m) , to the west the Bukovina (473 m) and to the northwest the Ploštiny (477 m). The Wlara Railway runs north of the village and the Slavičín railway station is one and a half kilometers from Rokytnice.

Neighboring towns are Hradek na Vlárské Dráze, Divnice and Bohuslavice nad Vláří in the north, Rokytenka and Popov in the Northeast, Jestřabí and Velíková the east, SEBAK and Valentová in the southeast, cooking Avec, jabłoni and Šanov in the South, Pod Zbytkem and Hostětín in the southwest, Kolelač and Vasilsko in the west and Rudimov in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of the village belonging to the Brumov Castle was in 1503. The owners at that time were the Podmanický of Podmanín. The residents of Rokytnice lived from the tailoring alongside farming; Most of the men went as miškář through Moravia, Bohemia or abroad to castrate their livestock. In 1834 there was a distillery and two water mills in Rokytnice. Until the middle of the 19th century, Rokytnice remained subject to the Brumov rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Roketnice / Roketnitz 1850 a municipality in the district administration Uherský Brod . In 1893 a volunteer fire brigade was founded. In the major fire of 1905, 33 houses were destroyed. The current name Rokytnice has been in use since 1924. In 1949 the community was assigned to the Okres Valašské Klobouky . After its abolition, Rokytnice came to Okres Gottwaldov at the end of 1960 . In 1976 the settlement of Kochavec was separated from the Jestřabí cadastre and added to Rokytnice. Between 1980 and 1999 Rokytnice was incorporated into Slavičín . Since the beginning of 2000, Rokytnice has formed its own municipality.

Attractions

  • Chapel of St. Anna, built 1937–1938 in place of a wooden bell tower from 1850
  • Prayer column between two linden trees, at the school. One of the two trees, a 300-year-old summer linden, has been protected as a tree monument since 2001. It has a trunk circumference of 4.33 m.
  • Statue of St. John of Nepomuk, on the village green
  • Chapel of St. Kyrill und Method in Kochavec, built in 1998 instead of a previous building
  • Kochavec hunting lodge, in a clearing above the Zelenský potok valley
