history

The desert village of Lhota was first mentioned in writing in 1549 in the country table , when Zigmund Kuna von Kunstadt transferred the property of the extinct Smilheim monastery to Wenceslaus von Boskowitz . In 1578 Lhota was last described as desolate, after which the village was repopulated under Zdeněk Kavka von Říčany. In 1585 Lhota consisted of 14 properties, including a bailiwick. During the Thirty Years War the village was burned down twice. The following landlords included u. a. Emerich Dóczy de Nagy Lucsie, Prokop Graf von Gollen, Marie Anna Minckwitz von Minckwitzburg , Hermann Hemilton von Blümegg and Philipp Stillfried-Rattonitz . The inhabitants lived from agriculture and sheep breeding. From 1846 the place was called Lhotsko or Lhotka . Until the middle of the 19th century, the village always remained subject to the Wisowitz rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial Lhotsko formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Uherský Brod . From 1855 the village belonged to the Vizovice District and from 1868 to the Holešov District . Even in the 20th century, Lhotsko retained its purely agricultural character. There were no industrial companies, and there were almost no craft companies. In the service industry, the village shop and the inn were the only businesses. Between the two world wars, some of the residents therefore looked for work in foreign companies, especially near Baťa in Zlín . In 1935 Lhotsko was assigned to the Zlín District. The village was electrified only in 1938. From 1949 Lhotsko belonged to Okres Gottwaldov-okolí and from 1960 back to Okres Gottwaldov, which was renamed Okres Zlín in 1990. Between 1976 and 1990 Lhotsko was incorporated into Vizovice. Lhotsko has had a coat of arms and a banner since 1999. On January 1, 2003, the village had 243 residents.
