history

After the construction of Lukov Castle by Margrave Karl between 1332 and 1334, the southern part of the Hostein Mountains began to be settled. Kašava was probably one of the settlements founded at this time. The first written mention of the village Kassava belonging to the Lukov rule took place in 1440. In 1480 the St. The church consecrated to Catherine of Alexandria is called, whose patronage rights were exercised on Lukov by the Lords of Sternberg according to an entry in the land table . The first tradition of a mill in Janova, later called Janůvky , comes from this year . In 1480, Lacek von Sternberg also assigned the Vogtei Kassawa to Vogt Jan and his wife Dorita. In addition to larger arable land, the Vogt also received brewing and licensing rights as well as the right to hunt rabbits and partridges on the Dřevnice. In the 16th century, Wallachian settlers immigrated from Transylvania. At that time the owners of the Lukov estate were u. a. the Nekesch from Landek. Lucretia von Witschkow, née Nekesch von Landek, who had inherited the rule in 1607, married Albrecht von Waldstein in 1609 . The Catholic parish went out between the 16th and 17th centuries and the old wooden church deteriorated. In 1625 Waldstein Lukov ceded all accessories to the emperor, who passed the rule to Stephan Schmidt von Freihofen. From this in 1628 the Minkwitz von Minkwitzburg acquired the now heavily indebted rule. During the Thirty Years' War the area became deserted and the Janova Lhota settlement near Držková was completely extinct after the Swedish invasion. At that time, Kašava was parish after Slušovice . In 1710 the lords of Rottal bought Lukov. Johann von Rottal sold the goods in 1724 to Johann Friedrich Graf von Seilern -Aspang, whose descendants held the property until 1945. In 1762 Johann Friedrich von Seilern-Aspang had a Catholic parish again set up in Kašava. There is evidence of a teacher in the village since 1765. The residents lived from their work in the forest. Until the middle of the 19th century the village always belonged to the Lukov rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial Kašawa formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Uherský Brod . From 1855 the village belonged to the Vizovice District and from 1868 to the Holešov District . Since 1872 the municipality has been called Kašava . In 1935 Kašava was assigned to the Zlín District. In 1946 the foundation stone was laid for the citizens' school in Kašava. From 1954 Kašava belonged to the Okres Gottwaldov-venkov and from 1960 back to the Okres Gottwaldov, which has been called Okres Zlín again since 1990 after the political change . Janůvky was dismantled and flooded with the construction of the Slušovice dam.
