history
The village was probably formed during the colonization of the area around Malenovice Castle by Margrave Johann Heinrich in the second half of the 14th century. It is believed that the Buchtů Hrádek fortress stood on the site of the current town hall . The first written mention of Bohuslawicz took place in 1362 in connection with the payment of the bridge money in the royal city of Hradiště . Bohuslawicz originally belonged to the margravial estates and was attached to the goods of the royal city of Hradiště in 1372 . Based on the remains of the wall, it is believed that the origins of the village were closer to Doubravy . In 1405 Bohuslawiczie came back to the Malenovice lordship. In 1490 the place was called Bohuslawicze . The following owners included u. a. Christoph Karl Konitzky von Konitz, Karl Kolowrat auf Liebstein, Karl Maximilian Graf von Thurn, Franz Karl von Liechtenstein-Kastelkorn and Karl Vincenz von Salm and Neuburg . In 1672 the village was called Bohuslawitz and in 1751 Bouslawitz . In 1793 a village school was established in Bouslawitz . In the same year, the manorial court was divided among eight settlers. In 1804 Leopold von Sternberg bought the Malenovice and Pohořelice estates for 660,000 guilders from Antonia Czernin von Chudenitz . Until the middle of the 19th century, Bohuslavice always remained subordinate to Malenovice.
After the abolition of patrimonial formed Bohuslawice / Buslawitz 1850 a municipality in the district administration Holešov and the judicial district Napajedla . From 1855 the municipality belonged to the Napajedla District and from 1869 to the Uherské Hradiště District . The residents lived mainly from sheep, goat and cattle breeding and run small farms that were not tolerable because of the stony soil. 60 inhabitants died in the cholera epidemic of 1866. Since then the municipality has been called Bohuslavice . In 1935 the municipality was assigned to the newly created political and judicial district of Zlín. The large estates of Count Sternberg were expropriated in 1945. From 1950 the community belonged to the Okres Gottwaldov-okolí. In 1958 Bohuslavice was hit by a heavy flood of the Březnice. As a result, the higher-lying locations Jižní svahy and Kopaniny were settled. From 1960 the village came back to Okres Gottwaldov and received the addition u Gottwaldova to distinguish it from another Bohuslavice . After the political change , the place has been called Bohuslavice u Zlína since 1990 . At the beginning of 2003 the community consisted of 239 houses and 807 inhabitants.
