Brumov-Bylnice is a town in Okres Zlín in the Czech Republic on the border with Slovakia . It belongs to the Zlínský kraj and is located about seven kilometers south of Valašské Klobouky .

geography

The city is located northwest of the Wlara Pass in the valley on the Brumovka river in the White Carpathians .

history

In the first half of the 13th century a royal castle was built in Brumov (German: also older Braunau ), which served the national defense and was supposed to guard the Wlara pass. The first known burgrave of Brumov was Smil von Zbraslav and Střílky . For the years 1294–1303 Ulrich II. Von Neuhaus is documented as a burgrave who owned the neighboring Bánov rule . Between 1441 and 1468 the Lords of Cimburg owned the rule. In 1474 Matthias Corvinus left the castle to Ladislav Podmanický of Podmanín for loyal services in the Bohemian-Hungarian War .

King Vladislav II Jagiello made Brumov a town in 1500. 1503 he confirmed in the country board the redemption of on Jan von Lomnitz on Meseritsch pledged rule Brumov with castle and town Brumov, the market Klobouk and the villages Bylnice, VLAR, Štítná , Návojná , Nedašov , Nedašova Lhota , Poteč , Prekaz , Ščudlov , Střelná , Senínka , Horní , Dolní Lidečko , Půlčín, Lačnov and the Hrádek Castle by the brothers Michal and Štěpán Podmanický from Podmanín. In 1520 Jan von Lomnitz acquired the rule from Michal Podmanický. After the death of Jaroslav von Lomnitz in 1572, his sister Magdalena inherited the rule. She was the wife of Henry III. von Münsterberg and sold the Brumov Castle with all its accessories in 1574 to Zdeněk Říčanský Kavka from Říčany . In 1573 a brewery was founded below the castle. The Kavka von Říčany held the property until 1622, after which Paul Apponyi de Nagy-Appony Brumov acquired. Between 1626 and 1662 the rule belonged to Nikolaus and Esther Forgács. In the second half of the 17th century, the rule began to be divided among several owners. From 1674 Johann Gabriel von Selb owned part of the rule. Between 1681 and 1684 three fifths of the rule belonged to the Bartodějský knights. Wolf Andreas von Orsini-Rosenberg later acquired part of the estate and in 1695, when he bought the Bartodějský share, he owned most of the estate. Another share belonged to the Counts of Waldorf since 1709 . This resulted in a new ownership constellation; 41% belonged to the Orsini-Rosenberg, a quarter to the knights of Selb, 18% to the Waldorf and 16% to the Count Illyesházy. In 1727 Count Josef Illyesházy bought the Orsini-Rosenberg share. In 1731 the rule was divided into three. The was the first rule Brumov (Brumov I) with the castle Brumov and the villages Bohuslavice , Brumov, Bylnice, Vlachovice , Drnovice , Francova Lhota , Jestřabí , Klobouky , Křekov , Lačnov, Leskovec , Lidečko , Lipina, Lužná , Mirošov, Nedašov, Nedašov Lhota , Polanka , Poteč, Pulčín, Popov , Smolina, Štítná , Střelná Tichov , Újezd and Vysoké Pole , which were owned by Counts Illyesházy. The other rule Brumow (Brumov II) with the seat in Haluzice fell to the Counts of Waldorf. The Knights of Selba became the owners of the Third Lordship of Brumov (Brumov III) with the seat of Návojná. The Count Illyesházy held Brumov I until 1835, after which Georg Simon von Sina bought the property.

After the abolition of patrimonial Brumov / Brumow formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Uherský Brod . The property was owned by Simon von Sina from 1856 to 1876 , and then by his daughter Josepha Iphigenie until 1894. She was followed by Anton Dreher until 1921 . After the death of the Dreher grandson and universal heir Oskar, the goods fell to his mother Edeltruda in 1926, who owned them until 1945. Since 1949 Brumov was assigned to the Okres Valašské Klobouky and came to the Okres Gottwaldov at the end of 1960 after its abolition . In 1965 Brumov and the formerly independent village of Bylnice merged. The former Gattermayer watermill has been preserved.
