history

Jasena was first mentioned in writing in 1468 as the property of the Smilheim Monastery . After the fall of the monastery, Zigmund Kuna von Kunstadt , a descendant of the founder of the monastery, received monastic property in 1485 for the purpose of renovating the monastery, which however never took place. In 1548 a parish was first mentioned in Jasena . In the second half of the 16th century the village became Protestant. Owners of the Vizovice manor were after the Lords of Kunstadt from 1549 Wenceslas from Boskowitz and from 1567 Zdeněk Kavka from Říčany. The place name Jasenny is handed down from 1562 and in 1578 the village was called Gasennau . Other forms of the name at this time were Gasenna and Jesena . In the land register of the Vizovice manor, there are 33 properties listed for Jasenná in 1585, the largest of which was the bailiff's estate with a hoof farmland and a mill. In 1594, the Hungarian nobleman Emerich Dóczy de Nagy Lucsie ( Emerich Dóczy z Natluče ) acquired the rule; he tried to re-Catholicize the subjects. In 1607 Pavel Ubelský bought the bailiwick from the orphans of his predecessor Matěj Klimeš. The parish became extinct after the Thirty Years' War, at which time Jesuit missionaries took over with moderate success to bring the population back to Catholicism. In 1663 Jíra Mikuláštík received the post of bailiff. The place name Jasenna has been handed down from 1672 . In 1777 a Catholic parish exposition was set up in Jasenna , which also included the villages of Ublo and Lutonina. However, the Catholics formed the minority among the population. After a forged tolerance patent was read out on the Hostýn in 1777 in order to uncover the true religious creed of the subjects, in 1778 139 residents of Jasenna publicly acknowledged the Augsburg creed. The bailiff Mikuláštík allowed them, although he was a Catholic himself, to hold Protestant services in his barn. After the patent of tolerance was promulgated , all residents, with the exception of the Mikuláštík family, converted to Protestantism in 1781. In the following year, Protestants formed their own church and built a wooden house of prayer. The Catholic school was founded in 1782. The other landlords included u. a. Prokop Gervasi Imperial Count von Gollen, Marie Anna Minckwitz von Minckwitzburg , Christoph von Blümegen and Philipp Stillfried-Rattonitz . In 1834 the village had grown to 82 houses in which 438 people lived. The main source of income was agriculture and especially sheep breeding. Until the middle of the 19th century Jassena was always subject to the Wisowitz rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial Jassena formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Uherský Brod . From 1855 the village belonged to the Vizovice District and from 1868 to the Holešov District . From 1872 the village was called Jasena or Jasená . In the same year a private evangelical church school was set up in the parish, which the children from Lutonina also attended. Around 1900 there were 18 salashes in the corridors of Jasená , where 100 to 200 sheep were grazed. The Protestant school was converted into a public school in 1903. The current place name Jasenná was introduced in 1924. In 1934, south of Jasenná, construction work began on the Zlín - Valašská Polanka railway , which was to be led from Lutonina in a large loop near Jasenná around the Na Háji hill to Ublo. However, the line was only completed to Vizovice. The railway line between Jasenná and Ublo now serves as a local connecting road. In 1935 Jasenná was assigned to the Zlín District. Classes in the Catholic school ceased in 1941. From 1949 Jasenná belonged to Okres Gottwaldov-okolí and from 1960 back to Okres Gottwaldov, which after the political change of 1989 has been called Okres Zlín again since 1990. Since 1999 the community has had a coat of arms and a banner. There are two cemeteries in Jasenná; the public evangelical cemetery with columbarium and celebration hall as well as a catholic cemetery.
