Poteč (German Potetsch , formerly Potesch ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located three kilometers northeast of Valašské Klobouky in Moravian Wallachia and belongs to the Okres Zlín .

geography

Poteč is located at the northern foot of the White Carpathians at the transition to Vizovická vrchovina . The village extends on both sides of the Vesník brook at its confluence with the Klobučka . The Stráň (607 m) and Černov (494 m) rise to the northeast, the Požár (791 m) to the east, the Ploštiny (739 m) to the southeast, the Královec (655 m) to the south, and the Suchý vrch (502 m) to the west. and in the northwest the Orla (502 m). The state road I / 57 between Valašské Klobouky and Horní Lideč and the Horní Lideč – Bylnice railway run through the village . The border with Slovakia runs six kilometers to the east .

The village was first mentioned in writing in 1341, when Margrave Karl the Klobouk pastor Ješek as thanks for the founding of both places, every third denarius from the Klobouk court, as well as in Kloboky and Poteč each a free hoof, the mill, the fish pond, the The inn, the meat bank, the blacksmith's shop, two servants ( podruh ) and other income. After the replacement of patrimonial Poteč / Potesch formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Uherský Brod and the judicial district Valašské Klobouky. At that time the place had 692 inhabitants. Between 1855 and 1868 the municipality was assigned to the Valašské Klobouky District, after which it returned to the Uherský Brod District. From 1881 the municipality was called Potéč . After the floods of 1902, the destroyed mill and board saw were not restored. In 1930 Poteč consisted of 130 houses and had 716 inhabitants. 1949 Poteč was assigned to the Okres Valašské Klobouky. During the regional reform of 1960, the place came to Okres Gottwaldov . On July 15, 1976, Poteč was incorporated into Valašské Klobouky , and since 1990 Poteč has again formed its own municipality.
