history

The first written mention of the village of Wilczkaw , which belonged to the Lukov rule , was made in 1373 in the Olomouc country table. In 1446 the place was referred to as Wlczkow and in 1509 as Wlczkowa . The owners of the Lukov estate were in the 16th century a. a. the Nekesch from Landek. Lucretia von Witschkow, née Nekesch von Landek, who had inherited the rule in 1607, married Albrecht von Waldstein in 1609 . At the beginning of the 17th century, Wlczkowa consisted of 15 properties, including a free mill. In 1625 Waldstein Lukov ceded all accessories to the emperor, who passed the rule to Stephan Schmidt von Freihofen. From this in 1628 the Minkwitz von Minkwitzburg acquired the now heavily indebted rule. After the Thirty Years War, two of the 15 economies were in desolation. The place name Wlcžkowa is passed down from 1671 . In 1710 the lords of Rottal bought Lukov. Johann von Rottal sold the goods in 1724 to Johann Friedrich Graf von Seilern -Aspang, whose descendants held the property until 1945. The parish and school location was Kašava . The oldest local seal bears the inscription WLCZKOWA and shows a wolf carrying a lamb away. In 1773 Jan Kolář bought the bailiwick from Count Seilern-Aspang, later the owners of all other properties also gradually bought themselves free from the subordination. In 1834 403 people lived in the 54 houses of the village. There were two mills in Wlczkowa, and a board saw also belonged to the Lower or Minářský mill. The inhabitants lived from agriculture, which was not very bearable due to the harsh climate and the mountainous location, and made wooden products by working from home. Until the middle of the 19th century the village always belonged to the Lukov rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial Wlcžkowa formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Uherský Brod . From 1855 the village belonged to the Vizovice District and from 1868 to the Holešov District . Since 1872 the municipality has been called Vlčková / Wlczkowa . In 1935 Vlčková was assigned to the Zlín District. From 1954 Vlčková belonged to the Okres Gottwaldov-venkov and from 1960 back to the Okres Gottwaldov, which has been called Okres Zlín again since 1990 after the political change .

The municipality of Vlčková has a coat of arms. It shows three eight-pointed gold stars on a blue field and in the middle - on a gold field - a black wolf with a silver lamb in its catch.
