After Jan Jičínský of Cimburg was enfeoffed with Lipowa in 1472 , he joined the estate to his lordship Brumov . In 1570 Lipowy was added to the Slavičín feudal lordship. In 1573 the place was called Lipowau . During the Thirty Years' War the village was partly deserted. In 1663 the Turks devastated Lippowa . During the uprising of Francis II Rákóczi , the place was burned down by the Kuruc in 1709. The oldest local seal dates from 1782. In 1843 Lippowa consisted of 73 houses and had 364 inhabitants. The manorial Hluboké Meierhof was located southeast of the village. The residents lived from cattle breeding and fruit growing. Most of the men earned extra income as circumcisers. Until the middle of the 19th century, Lippowa remained subordinate to the Slavičín feudal estate.

After the abolition of patrimonial Lipová formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Uherský Brod and the judicial district Valašské Klobouky . After the dissolution of the district authorities, Lipová was assigned to the Valašské Klobouky district office in 1855. From 1868 the village belonged to the re-established District Commission Uherský Brod and two years later to the local judicial district. In 1905 Lipová was assigned to the Bojkovice judicial district. The tradition of tailoring expired in 1948. In 1949 both the Okres Uherský Brod and the judicial district Bojkovice were abolished and the municipality was assigned to the Okres Valašské Klobouky. This existed until the end of 1960, after which Lipová became part of the Okres Gottwaldov .
