Veselá (German Wessela ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located eight kilometers east of Zlín and belongs to the Okres Zlín .

geography

Veselá is located in the southern foothills of the Hostein Mountains at the transition to the Wisowitz Mountains . The village lies on the right side above the confluence of the Ostraky brook in the Dřevnice on a hill. To the east rise Chrasť (438 m), the Břízka (409 m) and Na Hranici (380 m).

Neighboring towns are Vratišov, Ostrata and Březová in the north, Slušovice in the Northeast, Raková the east, Menšíky, Vizovice and Zádveřice the southeast, Klečůvka in the south, Lužkovice, Výpusta and Příluky in the southwest, Štákovy Paseky and Vršava the west and Hvozdná in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of the Lukov lordship village Wessela was in 1407 in the Libri citationum ( cargo books / knihy půhonné ) together with Ostrata , Březová and Lužkovice as the property of Ješek von Sternberg . In the 16th century the Nekesch von Landek acquired the Lukov rule. Lucretia von Witschkow, née Nekesch von Landek, who had inherited the rule in 1607, married Albrecht von Waldstein in 1609 . This tried in vain to recatholize his subjects. In 1625 Waldstein Lukov ceded all accessories to the emperor, who passed the rule to Stephan Schmidt von Freihofen. From this in 1628 the Minkwitz von Minkwitzburg acquired the now heavily indebted rule. Wessela was the seat of a bailiff who was released from the fron. When Lukov was sold to the Lords of Rottal in 1710, Wessela and Klečůvka were separated from the lordship and the Klečůvka allodial estate was formed. In 1793 the village consisted of 42 houses and 230 inhabitants. In 1834, 326 people lived in the 56 houses of Veselá. In 1843 the community had 370 inhabitants. Until the middle of the 19th century the village was always subject to the Klečůvka manor.

After the abolition of patrimonial Veselá / Wesela formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Uherský Brod . From 1855 the village belonged to the Vizovice District and from 1868 to the Holešov District . A school house was built between 1874 and 1877. In 1880 the village had grown to 84 houses and had 502 inhabitants. The parish was Hvozdná . With the growth of the originally laid out Slavic Rundling village to the east, the problem arose that Veselá was formally part of the Hvozdná parish, but most of the houses were in the Slušovice parish. When in 1900 65 houses in the village belonged to the Slušovice parish, the aim was to re-parish the 25 houses in the old town center. The expansion of the school and enrollment of the children from Klečůvka proposed by the district school council in 1908 failed due to the resistance of the local council. Between 1913 and 1914, a new school was built in Veselá without Klečůvka taking part. In 1910 551 people lived in Veselá and in 1921 there were 586. On June 7, 1915, Italian refugees from South Tyrol were accommodated in the old schoolhouse and other houses in the village . On January 1, 1926, Veselá was officially repared from Hvozdná to Slušovice. In the same year the Dřevnice and Ostratky were regulated. In 1935 Veselá was assigned to the new Zlín district. In 1936 construction began on the Lípa - Slušovice regional road and in 1938 the road from Klečůvka to Želechovice. From 1950 Veselá belonged to the Okres Gottwaldov-okolí and from 1960 back to the Okres Gottwaldov, which has been called Okres Zlín again since 1990 after the political change . Veselá carries a coat of arms and a banner.
