history
The first written mention of the village Štítná belonging to the castle Brumov took place in 1374. Popova Kře also belonged to the castle possessions and formed an independent estate with a fortress, which was the seat of the lesser Popova Kře family. Until the middle of the 19th century, both villages remained subject to the Brumov rule.
After the abolition of patrimonial Štitná / Stitna and Popukéř / Popuker formed two independent communities in the district administration Uherský Brod and the judicial district Valašské Klobouky . After the cancellation of the Okres Valašské Klobouky, Štítná nad Vláří and Popov came to the Okres Gottwaldov at the end of 1960 . At the beginning of 1961, the new municipality Štítná nad Vláří-Popov was created in which the villages of Štítná nad Vláří and Popov nad Vláří were united. Between 1976 and 1991 Jestřabí was also incorporated.
