history

The place was mentioned for the first time in a papal document as Luptal in 1361 during the settlement of a dispute between the Vizovice monastery and the Lords of Sternberg . The place name comes from the German and is derived from Liebtal or Liebental . At that time Liptál was owned by the Kravař on Vsetín , followed by the Lords of Cimburg. Since 1506 Liptál belonged to the noble family von Kunstadt and in 1614 it passed into the possession of Albrecht von Waldstein as part of the Vsetín rule . 1666 took place the establishment of the manorial Liptál.

In the 19th century, the park, the widow's seat, a grinding mill, a sawmill, brewery, distillery, inn and pub belonged to the castle. With the replacement of patrimonial in 1848, Liptál became an independent municipality.

The castle had been in the possession of the Brandenstein-Zeppelin family since 1930, who were expropriated in 1945. Since then, the castle has been owned by the municipality.
