Ingo Kleist

Ingo Kleist (born August 23, 1938 in Hamburg ) is a German SPD politician and former member of the Hamburg Parliament .

Live and act

Kleist completed an apprenticeship as a commercial assistant . He acquired the sailor 's certificate and the port license . This was followed by twenty years of employment as a police officer with the Hamburg water police . From 1981 he was managing director of the Landesbund der Gartenfreunde in Hamburg eV He is also a member of the police union .

Kleist joined the SPD in 1954, is assigned to the right wing of the party and was honored in 2004 by the former First Mayor of Hamburg Henning Voscherau for 50 years of membership. From 1974 to 1978 he was a member of the district assembly in the Hamburg-Mitte district . Kleist's wife Grete was a district member of the same district from 1986 to 2008.

From 1978 to 2004 Ingo Kleist was a member of the Hamburg citizenship , where he was the next candidate until September 30, 1979, before he took up a regular mandate for the former Senator Hans-Joachim Seeler . During this time he was considered an influential vice of the parliamentary group for almost two decades. He was a member of the Citizens' Committee, which, at the request of the Senate, is authorized to approve the expenditure and sale of state property and, in urgent cases, to issue statutory provisions pending other resolutions by the citizens. He served on the Home Affairs Committee and the Constitution, Rules of Procedure and Election Review Committee . His father, Joachim Kleist († 1960), who died at an early age and was most recently director of the citizenship chancellery , was a member of the citizenship from 1949 to 1958.

Other offices

An important part of Ingo Kleist's life determines the commitment to allotment gardens . He was chairman of the Landesbund der Gartenfreunde in Hamburg eV and chairman of the Förderverein Deutsches Kleingartenmuseum in Leipzig eV From 1997 to 2007 he was president of the Bundesverband Deutscher Gartenfreunde eV During his membership in the Hamburg citizenship, he made a name for himself in the politics of the Hanseatic city with allotment gardens .
