The Lords of Kravarn ( Páni z Kravař in Czech ) came from the Bohemian noble family of Beneschau ( Benešovci ). In the 14th and 15th centuries they were among the most important noble families in Moravia . Its members held high and highest offices in the Kingdom of Bohemia , the Margraviate of Moravia and the Duchy of Opava .

Since they owned numerous lands along the Oder , the geographical name of Kravařsko ( Kuhländchen ) is derived from them .

Branch of the family of the Lords of Tworkau / z Tvorkova

The gentlemen Tworkau (sometimes also Tworkowský von Tworkau , Tworkau von Krawarn ; Czech Páni z Tvorkova , also Tvorkovští z Kravař ); do not come from the Lords of Kravarn, but directly from the family of Beneschau ( Benešovci ). Her progenitor was Andreas von Beneschau and Tworkau ( Ondřej z Tvorkova ), who is documented for the years 1248-1264. He was probably a brother of the Wok von Krawarn and Beneschau ( Vok z Kravař a Benešova ). The claims to their successors filed by the von Tworkau after the lapse of the von Krawarns were rejected by the Troppauer district court in 1535.
