history

The village was probably formed in the 14th century as part of the rural colonization of the Hostein Mountains. It is believed that the village was originally called Hošťálkova Lhota and that its name is derived from Gottschalk . The first documentary mention of the village of Hossczalkowa , which belongs to the Vsetín domain, took place in 1505 in the Olomouc country table when Peter von St. Georgen and Bösing sold the Vsetín domain two years earlier to the five brothers from the Boleradic line of the Lords of Kunstadt . From the 16th century, the settlement grew strongly; clearing colonization ( pasekářská kolonizace ) gave rise to a large number of paseks (single blows ) to the west in the manorial forests in the Horňanka valley, which eventually expanded over the side valleys into the mountains. In the vicinity of the Paseken, the forest was gradually cleared until the 18th century in order to gain arable and pasture land. In 1548 the Nekeš von Landek acquired the rule. Between 1567 and 1579, Zdeněk Kavka Říčanský on Brumov administered the property as the guardian of the underage Jan Nekeš von Landek. By that time most of the residents had become Protestant. The land registers were created in 1609. In 1613 the widowed Lukrecia Nekešová von Landek passed the rule to her second husband Albrecht von Waldstein . He called the Jesuits to recatholize his subjects in Vsetín. Waldstein returned to military service after the death of his wife and transferred the administration of his dominions to Václav Štáblovský of Kovalovice, to whom he gave the town of Pržno and the mill on the Mikulůvka for extraordinary services on August 20, 1618 . After the outbreak of the Thirty Years War, the residents of Hossczalkowa took part in the Wallachian Uprising. The subsequent owner of the manor was Zdenko Žampach von Potštejn. In 1627 the place was called Hošťálkové . On May 14, 1634, the Lords of Žampach sold the Vsetín reign to Cardinal Péter Pázmány , who continued the re-Catholicization with harshness. His heir Nikolaus Pázmány de Panasz also continued this course. The invasion of the Protestant Swedes into Moravia in 1642 led to an expansion of the Wallachian uprising. This was bloodily suppressed by the imperial troops in 1644 and the leaders were executed in Brno . On May 3, 1652, Nikolaus Pázmány sold the estate for 96,000 thalers to Georg Illesházy on Trenčín . The place name Hosstialkow has been handed down from 1670 . Because of the over-indebtedness of the Vsetín rule, Georg Illésházy Hosstialkow left in 1678 to his creditor Julius Karl Podstatský von Prusinowitz , who formed a new rule in Hosstialkow and had a manorial court laid out. In 1707 the Podstatský von Prusinowitz sold the manor Hosstialkow with the manor, two mills, a brewery, a distillery and the tavern to the lords of Waldorf . The village Vrbětice still belonged to the rule . In 1709 the Lords of Waldorf acquired 18% of the Brumov estate , which they administered from Hosstialkow . Hostialkow from 1718 and Hostschalkow from 1720 have been handed down as further name forms . The oldest local seal dates from 1748. The village school was founded in 1769 by Gottlieb Ignaz von Waldorf ( Bohumil Ignác z Waldorfu ). From 1777 Hostialkow formed a center of the evangelical movement in Moravian Wallachia, which demanded the granting of religious freedom from Emperor Josef II. After the tolerance patent was issued, a Protestant prayer house was built in 1781 and a Protestant secondary school the following year. In the 19th century the Chorynský von Ledska acquired the rule. The agriculture was not very productive, in a description of the rule from the year 1834 the soils with the exception of the valley were described as sterile. For this reason, logging and logging services to the rafting yard on the Vsetínská Bečva near Jablůnka were an essential source of income for the residents. Hostialkow remained an independent rule until the middle of the 19th century.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Hošťalkov / Hoschtialkow 1850 a municipality in the district administration Meziříčí and the judicial district Vsetín. The Catholic school became a public elementary school in 1869. In 1872 the municipality was called Hošťálkov or Hostialkow . In 1893 the municipality used the official names Hošťalkow , Hošťálková and Hošťálkov . Between 1897 and 1898 a new Catholic school was built. In 1906 the municipality name was Hostialkow or Hošťálková . In the same year the volunteer fire brigade was formed. Since 1910 the place belongs to the Vsetín district. In 1918 the Moravian Agricultural and Industrial Bank in Brno acquired the Hošťálková manor from the Chorynský family. In the building of the former brewery, another school began teaching in 1921, the Citizens' School. The Catholic school was converted into a private school in 1924 and closed in 1942. Between 1927 and 1930 a new school building was built for the elementary school and the community school, which were combined in 1953 to form an eight-class middle school. In 1948 a kindergarten was established in Hošťálková. At Tesák and Troják there are winter sports areas with several ski lifts.
