history

The first written mention of the village Policz , which belonged to the episcopal rule of Kelč , took place in 1383, when the Olomouc bishop Peter Jelito, on the initiative of the bailiff of Šaumburk , Ar Kleb von Kunstadt , confirmed the old privileges granted to his ancestors by previous bishops. There was a manorial court in Police. The parish village of Horecko was first mentioned in 1429, and in 1652 the place was extinct. The place name Politz has been handed down from 1676 . The oldest local seal of Politz comes from the year 1749. The manorial farm Vrchovec was abolished and parceled out at the end of the 18th century. In its place, the Hohendorf family settlement was built in 1788 on the southwestern outskirts of the village. In 1794 Politz consisted of 65 houses and Hohendorf of 16 houses, in which together 417 people lived. In 1803 Vrchová had grown to 23 properties. The first school in Politz was probably built around 1800 in a chalet. In 1821 the community sold this chalup, followed by lessons in Branky. In 1835 both villages had a total of 674 inhabitants; Politz consisted of 86 houses and Hohendorf from 23. Since 1846 the place names Police and Vrchová are in use. Until the middle of the 19th century, both places always remained subordinate to Kelč. The parish was Branky.

After the abolition of patrimonial Police / Pohlitz and Vrchová / Hohendorf formed from 1850 two independent communities in the district administration Valašské Meziříčí. In the same year a brick windmill was built in the “na Zápouští” corridor, which at that time was the only windmill in Moravian Wallachia . Between 1859 and 1860 a new school was built in Police. In November 1877 a great fire destroyed all the houses in Vrchová and then spread to Police. In addition to Vrchová, the name Vrchovec has been used since the 1880s, and since 1924 as the official place name. On May 16, 1907, 29 houses burned down in Police, the village consisted of clapboard wooden houses. In 1910 Police and Vrchovec together had 523 inhabitants. Vrchovec consisted of 26 houses with 107 people; 416 people lived in Police's 67 houses. In 1914 the windmill was no longer in operation and no longer had any blades. Vrchovec was incorporated into Police in 1949. After the dissolution of the Okres Valašské Meziříčí, the municipality Police was assigned to the Okres Vsetín in 1960. In 1979 the school was closed. Between 1985 and 1990 Police was incorporated into Loučka .
