Lhota u Vsetína (German Lhota b. Lipthal ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located five kilometers southwest of Vsetín and belongs to the Okres Vsetín .
geography
Lhota u Vsetína extends in the Rokytenka valley between the Vizovická vrchovina and the Hostýnské vrchy . The Janišovský vrch (573 m) rises to the north and the Nezdoby (593 m) to the south. State road 69 between Vsetín and Vizovice runs through the village .
Neighboring towns are Horní Potoky and Janišov in the north, Rokytnice and Srní in the northeast, Ústí and Leskovec in the east, Seninka in the south and Liptál in the southwest.
history
The place was first mentioned in 1374 in a document Voks von Krawarn auf Starý Jičín as Vrchní Rokytnice . Vok left the Bailiwick of Vrchní Rokytnice with a mill, Kretscham and other accessories including the privilege to hunt hare and partridge to a Bartoň. The owner of the Vsetín manor, Jan von Messenpeck, confirmed the privileges to Vogt Martin Bartoň in 1459. In addition, Martin Bartoň and his sons Jakub and Pavel received the right to build a sawmill. In 1516 the village consisted of 14 farmsteads. After the Wallachian Uprising was put down during the Thirty Years' War, most of the 41 properties were burned down in 1644. Six residents were then executed as insurgents. A place seal has been handed down since 1748.
Home work began in Lhota in the 19th century. The residents made shingles, pocket knives, glass beads and wickerwork.
