history

In the founding deed of the Smilheim monastery on August 20, 1261, the castellan of Brumov, Smil of Zbraslav and Střílky listed Upper and Lower Ludsch as the limit of monastic property. It is not certain whether Lidečko already existed in addition to Horní Lideč at that time and whether Nieder Ludsch Lidečko is meant by Nieder Ludsch Lidečko. The first parish church in Lidečko was probably built between 1330 and 1340. To the north of today's village, in the Senice valley, at today's train station, was the settlement of Lomná, which died out during the Bohemian-Hungarian War in 1420. The first reliable written mention of the village came in 1424, when King Sigismund pawned part of the Brumov rule with the goods Lidečko, Bylnice , Štítná , Lačnov , Horní Lideč, Poteč , Študlov and Nedašov to Miroslav von Cimburg . The first written evidence of the existence of a parish church dates back to 1490 and a new church was consecrated in 1511. In 1509 the village was named Lidcze , 1518 Lidče Kostelní , 1575 Dolnij Lidczy and 1633 Licz . During the Turkish invasion of 1663, 234 inhabitants were murdered or abducted. In the hoof register of 1670, 52 properties are shown for Dolni Lydcze , 17 of which were desolate. In 1683 the Turks sacked the village again. When the Kuruc invaders in 1707, twelve residents of Lidečko died. In 1720 the place was called Unter Litz . After the division of rule, the village fell to the First Lordship of Brumow belonging to Count Illyesházy in 1731 . The oldest local seal dates from 1749, it bears the inscription OBETZ DEDINA LIDECKO . In 1790 Lidecko consisted of 123 houses and had 958 inhabitants. In 1834, 982 people lived in the 141 houses in the village. The Counts Illyesházy held the Brumov I rule until 1835, after which Georg Simon von Sina bought the property. The place name Dolny Lič has been passed down from 1846 . The village was always subject to Brumov I until the middle of the 19th century.

After the abolition of patrimonial Dolny Lič / Unter Litsch formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Uherský Brod and the judicial district Valašské Klobouky . Since 1872 the municipality was called Lidečko / Lideczko . Lidečko had 1159 inhabitants in 1900. Between 1923 and 1928 the Vsetín - Bylnice railway connection was established. Since 1949 Lidečko was assigned to the Okres Valašské Klobouky. At the end of 1960 the municipality came to Okres Vsetín after the Okres Valašské Klobouky was abolished . In 1970 Lidečko reached its highest population size with 1914 inhabitants. Since 1999 the community has had a coat of arms and a banner. In 2008 Lidečko won the nationwide Village of the Year competition . In 2010 the community was awarded in the competition for the European Village Renewal Award for special achievements in several areas of village development.
