European Village Renewal Award

The European Village Renewal Prize is awarded by the European ARGE Land Development and Village Renewal.

The prize has been awarded every two years since 1990. In the competition, efforts of the village aimed at sustainable, visible rural development and integrated into cooperative actions and plans are evaluated. These efforts include, among others

  • Strengthening the identity of the villagers
  • Preservation and development of location-appropriate income opportunities
  • Revitalization and integration of agriculture and forestry in local cycles
  • Ecologically compatible supply and disposal and the use of renewable raw materials
  • Actions that were carried out to achieve the goals, such as regional partnerships, collaborations
