The canton of Redingen is located in the west of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg . It borders on the canton of Wiltz to the north, the cantons of Diekirch and Mersch to the east, the canton of Capellen to the south and Belgium to the west .

Until the abolition of the Luxembourg districts on October 3, 2015, the canton belonged to the Diekirch district .
