The Diekirch District was from its inception in 1843 until the abolition on October 3, 2015, district in Luxembourg , of the Ösling included. It consisted of the cantons of Redingen , Wiltz , Clerf , Vianden and Diekirch .

The district bordered Belgium to the north and west , Rhineland-Palatinate and the Grevenmacher district to the east, and the Luxembourg district to the south .

The capital of the district was Diekirch , the largest town was  Ettelbruck .
