Mersch District
The Mersch district was a Luxembourg district , which existed from May 30, 1857 to May 4, 1867 and included the southern Ösling . This makes it the only district in the history of the Duchy of Luxembourg that emerged later than the other three and did not exist until 2015 when the districts were abolished.
The Mersch district consisted of the Mersch canton , which was separated from the Luxembourg district , and the Redingen canton , which was previously in the Diekirch district . Its seat was in Mersch . After its dissolution, the cantons were reassigned to their original districts.
The following 23 parishes were in the district:
1. Canton of Mersch
|
2. Canton of Redingen |
