Colmar-Berg ( Luxembourgish Colmer-Bierg ) is a municipality in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and belongs to the canton of Mersch . Together with the communities of Bettendorf , Diekirch , Ettelbrück , Erpeldingen and Schieren , Colmar-Berg forms the core of the Nordstad . Along with the cities of Luxembourg and Esch an der Alzette, this region is the third development pole of the Grand Duchy.
The place is about four kilometers south of Ettelbrück at the confluence of the Attert into the Alzette . Colmar-Berg is home to Berg Castle , the residence of Grand Duke Henri , the head of state of Luxembourg.

history
In 1941 a National Political Education Institute for girls was founded in occupied Colmar-Berg .
By the law of March 25, 1991 the municipality "Bierg" (Berg) was renamed "Colmer-Bierg" (Colmar-Berg) .
Town twinning
Since November 17, 2004 there has been a town partnership with the town of Weilburg , Germany .
Companies
With over 3000 employees, Goodyear is one of the largest employers in Luxembourg. In 1957, Goodyear founded the Goodyear Innovation Center Luxembourg (GICL) in Luxembourg, which develops tires for the European and Asian markets. The Colmar-Berg plant produces tires for trucks and earth moving machines (Earthmover) .
