Dorfbeuern is a municipality with 1571 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the north of the state of Salzburg in the Salzburg-Umgebung district . The Benedictine monastery in the village of Michaelbeuern is well known and important.
geography
The municipality is located in the northeast of the Salzburg-Umgebung (Flachgau) district 24 km north of the city of Salzburg on the border with Upper Austria and is part of the judicial district of Oberndorf .
Community structure
The municipality area is 14.5 km² and is identical to the only cadastral municipality of the same name. Dorfbeuern is divided into the localities (population in brackets as of January 1, 2020):

history
The political community of Dorfbeuern came into being on January 1st, 1850. The community is divided into the three places Michaelbeuern, Dorfbeuern and Vorau as well as several hamlets. The economic and cultural center of the community is the Benedictine Abbey Michaelbeuern , which was founded around the year 730 AD.

The coat of arms of the municipality is: "Red split before blue, inside each side an inward-facing silver wing, the right with a red, the left with a blue ball and between the two wings at the gap a silver ball."
