The municipality of Fuschl am See is located on the Fuschlsee in the Salzburg Flachgau region . It has 1565 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020).
Community structure
The locality includes all settlements in the municipality. In addition to the village of Fuschl , parts of the village are the hamlets Bambichl , Haslwald and Perfall, the Rotten Brunn, Ellmau , Fischer , Oberellmau , Schober , Steinbach and Wesenau , the scattered settlement Schober-Seewinkl and some individual houses.
The community belongs to the judicial district of Thalgau .
history
The area was first mentioned in a document in the 8th century. The name Fuschilsee was first found in a document in the 12th century , and the first goods in the Ellmau were also mentioned.
The castle Wartenfels was built in the 13th century, at the same time higher up goods in Ellmau and Brunn are detected. The village of Fuschl was established in the 15th century, and the cross column was also built in the Lacken .
The first road to Hof on the south side of the lake was laid out in the 16th century. In addition, Fuschl Castle was mentioned for the first time and the "Taferne zu Brunn" document was documented.
