Fuschlsee region

The Fuschlsee region (also known as the Fuschlsee holiday region ) is a tourist region in the north-east of the Austrian state of Salzburg and lies extensively around the Fuschlsee and forms part of the Salzkammergut .

history

Six municipalities in the north-east of the state of Salzburg and their tourism associations worked on a merger to strengthen tourism in the region from 2014, which finally came about in mid-2016 and was actually implemented in 2017. The municipalities of Ebenau , Faistenau , Fuschl am See , Hintersee , Hof bei Salzburg and Koppl were involved in the formation of the tourism association .

The Fuschlsee region lies east of the provincial capital Salzburg in Flachgau and stretches from east of the Salzburg basin to near the Wolfgangsee . The area includes the following municipalities:

  • Elsenwang, a small town west of Hof near Salzburg
  • Vordersee, a place on the Hintersee
  • Schroffenau, north of Ebenau
  • Tiefbrunnau, a village south of Fuschl am See

Waters

The Hintersee

There are two larger lakes in the region : the Fuschlsee and the Hintersee . Small mountain lakes are the Eibensee and the Filblingsee around Fuschl am See.

Mountains

The Fuschlsee region is largely occupied by the Osterhorn group .
