Ebenau is a municipality with 1424 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Salzburger Land in the Salzburg-Umgebung district in Austria .
geography
The community is located in Flachgau in the Salzburg region between the city of Salzburg and Lake Wolfgang . The community belongs to the judicial district of Thalgau .

- Hinterebenau (140) including Haslau, Strub and Werkschulheim Felbertal
- Hinterwinkl (157) including Ed and Weißbach

The community consists of the cadastral communities Ebenau I, Ebenau II, Hinterwinkl-Ebenau and Vorderschroffenau.

- Museum im Fürstenstöckl : The Heimatmuseum von Ebenau is located in the former armory of the sovereign princes and archbishops of Salzburg . The historical importance of the place as a center of iron, copper and brass processing is documented by appropriate metal hammer mills and forging tools. In addition, firearms from the 17th century are on display, which were made in the municipality of Ebenau by the Klett family.
- Ebenauer Mühlenwanderweg: 6 km long circular hiking trail with seven restored water mills from the 16th and 17th centuries. The path begins in Ebenau at the Waschlmühle, leads past the Pertill mill on a ridge with the Watzmannblick near Koppl to the so-called Plötz in the Rettenbach gorge. The Schroffenau mill is located at the upper edge of the approximately 25 m high waterfall, while the Eder, Pertiller, Schindlau and Hofbauer mills are further down. Display boards along the way explain historical, geological and biological relationships.
