history

District Court Oberndorf

The judicial district Oberndorf was created together with 22 other judicial districts in Salzburg by a decree of the kk Oberlandesgericht Linz on July 4, 1850 as the “judicial district Weitwörth” and originally comprised the 15 tax communities Acharting , Anthering , Armsdorf , Dorfbeuern , Gömming , Holzhausen , Jauchsdorf , Lamprechtshausen , Nußdorf , Oberndorf , Pinswag , Sankt Alban , Sankt Georgen , Schwerting and Weitwörth .

As early as 1858 the seat of the court was transferred from Weitwörth to Oberndorf and at the same time the name was changed from Weitwörth to Oberndorf .

As part of the separation of the political from the judicial administration from 1868, the judicial district together with the judicial districts Abtenau , Golling , Hallein , Mattsee , Neumarkt , Salzburg , Sankt Gilgen and Oberndorf formed the district of Salzburg .

Through the amalgamation of municipalities, the number of municipalities was reduced to the eight municipalities of Anthering , Bürmoos , Dorfbeuern , Göming , Lamprechtshausen , Nußdorf am Haunsberg , Oberndorf near Salzburg and Sankt Georgen near Salzburg until the second half of the 20th century , with Bürmoos only moving from Lamprechtshausen in 1967 and Sankt Georgen had become independent.

As a result of the “District Court Ordinance Salzburg” passed in 2002, the judicial district of Oberndorf was expanded to include the two municipalities of Berndorf bei Salzburg and Bergheim as part of the reorganization of the judicial district of Salzburg .

On July 1, 2022, the previous district court districts of Neumarkt, Oberndorf and Thalgau will be dissolved and merged into a central district court at the new Seekirchen am Wallersee location .
