The Abtenau judicial district was a judicial district in the Austrian state of Salzburg, which was subordinate to the Abtenau District Court . The judicial district comprised the western part of the Hallein district .

history

Heinrich von Gutrat is mentioned in a document as the first judge in Lammertal in 1299.

The judicial district Abtenau was created together with 22 other judicial districts in Salzburg by a decree of the kk Oberlandesgericht Linz on July 4, 1850 and originally comprised the 14 tax communities “ Abtenau (municipality) , Abtenau (market) , Annaberg , Fischbach , Gappen , Leithenhaus , Neubach , Rigaus , Rußbach , Schorn , Seetratten , Seydegg , Unterberg , Weitenau ”.

In the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration from 1868, the judicial district together with the judicial districts Golling , Hallein , Mattsee , Neumarkt , Oberndorf , Salzburg and Sankt Gilgen formed the district of Salzburg-Umgebung .

On September 1, 1896, the judicial districts of Abtenau, Golling and Hallein were separated from the Salzburg-Umgebung district and united to form the new Hallein district .

Through the amalgamation of municipalities, the number of municipalities was reduced to three municipalities, whereby on January 1, 1939, part of the municipality of Abtenau (Weitenau) was added to the municipality of Weitenau Scheffau am Tennengebirge and thus to the Golling judicial district.

The Abtenau judicial district was dissolved by the “Salzburg District Courts Ordinance” passed in 2002 and merged with the Hallein judicial district on January 1, 2003.
