history

The judicial district Sankt Michael im Lungau was created together with 22 other judicial districts in Salzburg by a decree of the kk Oberlandesgericht Linz on July 4, 1850 and originally comprised the 18 tax communities Bundschuh , Hintermuhr , Höf , Lamm , Mauterndorf , Neuseß , Oberweißburg , Rotenwand , St Margarethen , St. Martin , St. Michael , Schelgaden , Thomathal , Tweng , Unterweißburg , Vordermuhr , Wald and Zederhaus .

The judicial district formed during the separation of the political from the judicial administration from 1868 together with the judicial district Tamsweg the tamsweg district .

The judicial district of Sankt Michael im Lungau was dissolved on February 1, 1962, with the area of ​​the judicial district being added to the Tamsweg judicial district.
