history
The judicial district of Saalfelden was created together with 20 other judicial districts in Salzburg by a decree of the kk Oberlandesgericht Linz on July 4, 1850 and originally comprised the 20 tax communities Aberg , Alm , Bergham , Ecking , Farmach , Gerling , Grießen , Haid , Hinterthal , Hohlwegen , Lenzing , Leogang , Lichtenberg , Pirzbichl , Saalfelden , Schwarzleo , Sonnberg , Uttenhofen , Ober-Weißbach and Winkl .
In the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration from 1868, the judicial district together with the judicial districts Mittersill , Lofer , Taxenbach and Zell am See formed the district of Zell am See .
In 1923 the judicial district of Lofer was dissolved and the communities were assigned to the judicial district of Saalfelden.
On January 1, 2003, the Taxenbach judicial district was dissolved and the municipality of Dienten am Hochkönig was assigned to the Saalfelden judicial district. At the same time, the municipalities of Maishofen , Saalbach-Hinterglemm and Viehofen from the Zell am See judicial district were assigned to the Saalfelden judicial district.
On July 1, 2017, the Saalfelden judicial district was closed and all affected communities were assigned to the Zell am See judicial district. This now includes the entire Zell am See district.
