On the western edge of the Saalfeldner Basin, on the road to Leogang , lies the Uttenhofen district of the municipality of Saalfelden .
Infrastructure
The district includes only a few farms , an inn , a nursery and a few houses. One of the largest industrial companies in Saalfeld , a sawmill with connected pellet production, is also located in Uttenhofen.
Surroundings
In the south, the slopes of the Biberg and Huggenberg are only moderately steep and form a terrain for ski jumps . From a small facility that had existed since the 1970s, a ski jumping facility was expanded in 1986, which was modernized and expanded between 2002 and 2004.
In honor of the internationally very successful ski athlete Felix Gottwald , who as a member of the Saalfeldner Ski Club has already won 20 World Cup competitions in Nordic Combined , the Bibergschanze facility was renamed the " Felix Gottwald Ski Jump Stadium ".
