The judicial district of Sankt Gilgen was a judicial district subordinate to the District Court of Sankt Gilgen in the state of Salzburg . The judicial district covered the southeastern part of the Salzburg-Umgebung district .

history

The judicial district of Sankt Gilgen was created together with 22 other judicial districts in Salzburg by a decree of the kk Oberlandesgericht Linz on July 4, 1850 and originally included the ten tax communities Aigen , Gschwand , Gschwend , Oberburgau , Ried , St. Gilgen , Strobel , Unterburgau , Weissenbach and angles .

As part of the separation of the political from the judicial administration from 1868, the judicial district together with the judicial districts Abtenau , Golling , Hallein , Mattsee , Neumarkt , Oberndorf , Salzburg and Thalgau formed the district of Salzburg .

Through the amalgamation of municipalities, the number of municipalities was reduced to the three municipalities of Fuschl am See, Sankt Gilgen and Strobl by the second half of the 20th century. The judicial district of Sankt Gilgen was dissolved on January 1, 2003 and the area was added to the judicial district of Thalgau.
