Gschwand (municipality of Sankt Gilgen)

Gschwand is a village in the municipality of Sankt Gilgen in Salzburg.

The place is located about 4 kilometers south-east of St. Gilgen and 6 kilometers west of Strobl and consists of the districts Abersee , Brunn , Farchen, Franzosenschanze , Langgassen, Reith and Stockach .

Gschwand is located on the south bank of Lake Wolfgang on the Zinkenbach peninsula , a flat alluvial cone of the Zinkenbach , which flows through the neighboring town of Abersee , where it forms the border between the communities of St. Gilgen and Strobl.

Until it was discontinued in 1957, Gschwand was a station of the Salzkammergut local railway .
