Weißbach bei Lofer is a municipality with 406 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Zell am See district (Pinzgau) in the state of Salzburg . Districts are Frohnwies, Hintertal, Oberweißbach, Pürzlbach and Unterweißbach. The community has been part of the Bergsteigerdörfer -Initiative of the PES since 2008 .

location

The community lies between 666  m above sea level. A. (town center) and 2634  m above sea level. A. ( Birnhorn ), surrounded by the foothills of the Steinernes Meer , the Leoganger and Loferer Steinberge .

Community structure

The municipality includes the following five localities (population as of January 1, 2020):

  • Frohnwies (46)
  • Hintertal (40)
  • Oberweißbach (149)
  • Pürzlbach (36)
  • Unterweißbach (135)

The community consists of two cadastral communities (area 2016):

  • Oberweißbach (5,261.81 ha)
  • Unterweißbach (1,697.35 ha)

With around 400 inhabitants, Weißbach is the smallest municipality in the Pinzgau. The oldest farms in the community were mentioned in documents as early as 1100. Until the end of May 1923, the community belonged to the judicial district of Lofer , then until June 2017 to the judicial district of Saalfelden . On July 1, 2017, she was assigned to the judicial district of Zell am See .

history

Weißbach has been a separate political municipality since 1946 and has been a model municipality for village and urban renewal since 1994. The Weißbach Nature Park was opened on July 22, 2007 , to which the Seisenbergklamm also belongs. The Weißbach flows into the Saalach here . In the establishment of the Natural Park, the private law which had Bavaria belonging hall forests essential part.
