The Weißbach is a seven kilometer long stream in the municipality of Weißbach bei Lofer in the Austrian state of Salzburg .
It rises as Alpel- (or Albl- ) and Kematenbach on the southwestern slopes of the Berchtesgaden Alps . Shortly after their union, the two source streams are dammed and since 1967 some of the water has been diverted to the Dießbach reservoir ( Dießbach storage power plant ). The Weißbach flows in a north-westerly direction past the Weißbachalm to Hintertal . From there it flows in a south-westerly direction along the Hirschbichl- Strasse and flows into the Saalach on the right in Weißbach bei Lofer after crossing under the Pinzgauer Strasse (B 311) . Shortly before the village of Weißbach, the stream narrows to the Seisenbergklamm natural monument .
The Weißbach is part of the Weißbach Nature Park .
