Annaberg im Lammertal is a place in the Lammertal in the state of Salzburg , and a locality and cadastral municipality of the municipality of Annaberg-Lungötz in the Hallein district .
geography
The village is located on the Lammer , in the upper Lammertal, 30 km southeast of Hallein and 9 km behind Abtenau on the B 162 Lammertal road , between the confluences of Sulzbach and Rauchbach , both from the Bischofsmütze . On the left is the Tennengebirge , on the right the Dachstein massif with the Gosaukamm and south of the Bischofsmütze as the local mountain of the Lammertaler. The Gosau lakes lie behind the Gosaukamm .
The village has a little over 200 buildings with around 820 inhabitants. The hamlets of Mandlhof and Mosersäge and the Bogenhof and Schindlmais farms also belong to the local area .
The cadastral community also includes the villages of the scattered houses Braunötzhof and Steuer on the eastern slope, up to the border with Upper Austria on the Gosaukamm, with the Dachstein-West skiing and hiking area ( Zwieselalm , with Gasthof Dolomitenblick ) and the Stuhlalm with the Theodor-Körner -Hut .

history
The place was originally called St. Anna im Berg or St. Anna in der Zimmerau (the old name for the rear Lammertal). As part of the emigration patent Leopold Anton von Firmians , the expulsion of the evangelicals ( exiles ) from the prince-archbishopric of Salzburg , the church was set up in 1731 as the vicariate of Annaberg. Here in the seclusion of the Lammertal, as in the neighboring Gosau, Protestantism among farmers and forest workers had strongly outlasted the Counter-Reformation . In 1750 the local church was rebuilt, and in 1903 it was made a parish.
Attractions
The parish church Annaberg im Lammertal as well as the former sacristan's house and the cemetery chapel, all three of which are listed, are worth seeing .
