The Lammer is a 41 km long right tributary of the Salzach in the Austrian state of Salzburg .
Landscape and run
It rises in the Tennengebirge , which it flows around in a wide arc. The - mostly dry - beginning of the river is at the Jochriedel 1720 m above sea level. A. , in the municipality of Sankt Martin am Tennengebirge on the border with Werfenweng . As a small stream, it then flows eastward via Lammertal until it suddenly turns north.
Along the middle reaches the Lammertal itself, with the communities Annaberg-Lungötz , Abtenau and Scheffau am Tennengebirge . In the vicinity of Oberscheffau there is a gorge , the Lammeröfen .
After this gorge, the Lammer enters the southern end of the Salzburg basin , near the Lueg pass , and flows into the Salzach in the plain near Golling .

The Lammer is known for its very clean water, the river is also popular with white water sports enthusiasts.
