Senice in Valašská Polanka

The Senice (German Senitza ) is a left tributary of the Vsetínská Bečva in the Czech Republic .

geography

The Senice rises in the Javorník Mountains on the western slope of the Makyta ( 923  m ). It flows on its upper reaches through the protected landscape area ChKO Beskydy via U Šeligů, Valašská Senice and Francova Lhota to the southwest to Horní Lideč . Here the river changes direction and forms a valley with a pronounced middle and lower reaches that separates the Vizovická vrchovina from the Javorník Mountains. The western border of the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area runs along this section of the river. Lidečko , Lužná and Heinzův Mlýn extend in the valley of the Senice along the central reaches leading to the northwest . The lower reaches of the Senice, which begins at the confluence of the Pozděchůvka near Neratov, leads north via Valašská Polanka , U Lukých, Leskovec and Ústí . To the north of Ústí, the Senice flows into the Vsetínská Bečva after 32.5 km . Its catchment area is 135 km².

The Hranice na Moravě – Střelná railway runs through the Senice Valley between Horní Lideč and Ústí .

To the north of Lidečko, on the left side of the Senice, is the Čertovy Skály natural monument .

history

In the founding document of the Smilheim monastery , the Senice was mentioned in 1261 as the border river of the monastic goods.
