history
The Solanec settlement was established in the 16th century. In 1583 a bailiff in Solanec was mentioned for the first time in the land register of the town of Rožnov . In 1656, Balthasar von Zierotin founded a glassworks on Rožnov north of Solanec. In 1657 he raised the settlement of Solanec to a municipality. His son Bernhard Ferdinand von Zierotin also raised the Hutisko glassmaking settlement to a parish in 1666. In the 19th century the Kinsky counts were the landlords. Until the middle of the 19th century, both villages were always subject to the Rožnov rule.
After the abolition of patrimonial Hutisko and Solanec pod Soláněm formed from 1850 independent political communities in the district administration Valašské Meziříčí . Since 1910, both parishes have belonged to the Vsetín District. On January 1, 1960, Hutisko and Solanec pod Soláněm were merged to form Hutisko-Solanec. Hutisko-Solanec is now a resort. There is a swimming pool in Solanec pod Soláněm.
