history
The place arose in the middle of the 18th century as a settlement of Pasekars around a manor of the Loučka manor on a pass road that climbs steeply from Podolí over the ridge of the Hostýnské vrchy . The first written mention of Laze was in 1763. The inhabitants of the village lived from pasture farming and work in the forest. In 1846 the place was called Laže . Until 1849 Laže always remained subordinate to the Laucžka rule and belonged to the Prerau district.
After the abolition of patrimonial Laže formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Valašské Meziříčí. In 1854 an earthenware factory was established that produced until 1900. The Laucžka estate was deleted from the episcopal feudal association in 1871. From 1872 the village was called Laze again and from 1893 the municipality was called Láze . The current place name Lázy was introduced in 1924. The district road from Loučka via Podolí to Lázy was completed in 1905. In 1918 Tomáš Baťa bought the property, followed in 1933 by his widow Marie Baťová. After the cancellation of the Okres Valašské Meziříčí, Lázy was assigned to the Okres Vsetín in 1960. 1980 Lázy was incorporated into Loučka together with Podolí. In 1991 Lázy had 84 inhabitants. The 2001 census counted 45 residential buildings with 76 residents. Today, Lázy is primarily a resort. From the settlement there is a wide view over the Kelčská pahorkatina to the Bečva valley .
