The VfR Kirn is a German football club from Kirn .
history
The club goes back to the 1907 founded SC Nahe 1907 Kirn , which after the First World War joined the TuS 1862 Kirn as a football department in early 1919 . In the course of the clean divorce , the football team separated from the club again in 1924 and started their own business as VfR Kirn. In 1934 the club merged again with the gymnastics club, but the connection was broken after the end of the Second World War .
In terms of sport, VfR Kirn first drew attention to itself as a Oberliga Südwest participant in the 1949/50 season , but rose directly from bottom of the table in the northern relay. After a third place in the amateur league Rheinhessen qualified for the II. Division , the club rose as a second division champion back in the league in 1952. Here the team played two seasons until relegation again, then they belonged again to the II division for five seasons. At the end of the 1958/59 season , there was relegation to the third-class Southwest amateur league.
In 1966, VfR Kirn qualified as runner-up in the amateur league for the German Amateur Championship , but had to admit defeat to Union Böckingen in the first round . The team took part in the competition again the following season with the same result, this time losing to the eventual finalist Hannover 96 Amateurs at the beginning . After relegation to the fourth division in 1970, the club returned to the amateur league in 1974. When the leagues were introduced as the third highest division in 1978 , the team missed the qualification and said goodbye to higher-class football.
