Peter Wilhelm Dröscher (born June 11, 1946 in Kirn ) is an SPD politician and was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament from May 20, 1996 to June 30, 2014 .

Life

Peter Wilhelm Dröscher is the son of Wilhelm Dröscher . After graduating from high school, he trained as an industrial designer and studied social sciences in Darmstadt ( MA ). From 1979 to 1990 he worked as the director of a folk high school in Oer-Erkenschwick . He then worked until 1996 as the head of the geriatrics / geriatric care project and the geriatric care schools in the Elisabethenstift Darmstadt . Dröscher is married and has three grown children. Today he lives with his wife in his parents' house in Kirn.

Political career

Dröscher has been a member of the SPD since 1969. Since 1996 he has represented the constituency of Kirn-Bad Sobernheim in the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament. From 2003 to 2013 he was state chairman of the SPD working group "60 plus".

In the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament, Dröscher held the functions of chairman of the petitions committee and the prison commission as well as the demographic policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group.
