The Bundesverband Mediation eV (BM) is a German professional association for mediation with its headquarters in Berlin .

history

The federal association was founded in 1992 in the legal form of a registered association (eV). This made it the first association in the field of mediation in Germany. It describes itself as an interdisciplinary professional association for promoting understanding in conflicts , and it is open to various basic professions and fields of mediation. The association is active in the areas of family, organizations, schools and offender-victim compensation .

organization

The board of directors, which according to the statutes is elected every two years by the general assembly, has consisted of six members since September 2019. The first chairman of the association is the psychologist Alexandra Bielecke from Berlin.

The association organizes u. a. following activities:

  • Working groups for the performance of overarching tasks, e.g. B. Congresses
  • Specialist groups for the further development of various areas of application of mediation
  • Project groups for the establishment of a specialist group
  • Regional groups for the local exchange of expertise, experience and information.
  • Implementation of a biennial congress
  • Organization of specialist meetings
  • Arranging (addresses) of mediators
  • Training offers
  • Licensing of training courses according to our own standards.
