Sarah Hanson-Young (born December 23, 1981 in Melbourne ) is an Australian politician.

Life

Hanson-Young grew up in Orbost in East Gippsland. She has been involved with the Amnesty International organization since school . After finishing school, she began studying at the University of Adelaide .

Hanson-Young became a party member of the Australian Greens . Since July 2008, Hanson-Young has been a Senator for the Australian Greens in the Australian Senate . She is the youngest female senator in Australian history.

Hanson-Young is married with one child.
